Welcome to the Connexions Page

Ian Alderson is the Connexions Personal Adviser based at Saddleworth School and available for Years 9-11 to offer information, advice and guidance on a variety of issues.

These issues include careers support linked to educational choices after Year 11 and also help with choosing GCSES in Year 9. He can also offer help with problems and difficulties which get in the way of you controlling your future.

Drop-In Sessions
He is available for Drop-In Sessions on Tuesdays (Bungalow) and Thursdays (instead of Friday) in the MMRC from 1pm to 1.40pm. At other times you can contact him by phone on 0161 621 9381 or by e-mail: ianalderson@positivestepsoldham.org.uk

Careers Gateway - A virtual careers library for help on all aspects of careers, further and higher education and job-hunting techniques.

Careers Northwest - Includes a directory of different careers and the careers matchmaker to match you up to your perfect job.

Connexions Direct - The Connexions Direct Site which contains the Jobs4U A-Z Careers Database and information to help you with choices in Year 11 and 9. It also contains information and help on money, health and relationships.

Learning Directory - Use this one to search for your local training provider in different occupational areas.

UCAS - List of all University courses and places in the UK.

University Options - Search on university courses and look at entry requirements needed. Useful for choosing A Levels and other post-16 college course options.
