Initial Teacher Training Provision
Initial Teacher Training Programme
Saddleworth school are proud to be part of the Northen Alliance. The programme is highly personalised from your first contact with us to taking up your first job, probably in an Alliance school.
You will be based in an Alliance school from September where you will be trained and mentored by outstanding, specialist teachers in successful departments. Regular central training sessions bring you together with other trainees to learn from each other, share your insights and develop your professional skills. You will soon find yourself in classrooms, and with full support and thorough preparation, will share the responsibility for planning and teaching your own groups.
In addition to school- based training for Qualified Teacher Status, trainees achieve a PGCE with Master’s level credits. For this part of the programme you will be taught by tutors from Liverpool Hope University, an outstanding Higher Education provider, and have full access to the university’s learning and research resources.
The Northern Alliance is led by The Blue Coat School, which has a proven record of outstanding training and a longstanding commitment to developing outstanding teachers and leaders. Blue Coat was judged outstanding by Ofsted in all categories (2011-2012) and is a National Teaching School.
Our accrediting provider, Liverpool Hope University, has also been judged to be outstanding.
