Welcome to the MMRC

The MMRC fulfils a major role in the learning process for all students. A wide range of resources are available for all subjects, catering for all ages and abilities.

Major Priorities:

  • improvement of literacy. We encourage reading for pleasure, especially in the fiction and leisure areas.
  • stock reflects the importance of equal opportunities and multiculturalism.
  • the use of ICT is integral to the effectiveness and success of the area.

Recent major changes reflect the importance of integrating modern and traditional approaches to the provision of learning resources to encourage frequent and effective use. The open access policy and organization of library related activities ensures that the MMRC is a vibrant and popular area.


Opening Hours

The MMRC opening hours are:

8.00am-4.00pm Monday-Friday

Dinnertime use:

Years 7-9 Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Years 10-11 Tuesday, Thursday & Friday


MMRC News

We are currently taking part in the Carnegie Awards.  The Carnegie Medal is awarded by children\'s librarians for an outstanding book for children and young people. The shadowing scheme invites children and young people to read the short listed books, post reviews and share their opinions with other reading groups.  All years are welcome to come along and join in the debate at Book Club every Tuesday, 1.00pm -1.30pm.

Manga Drawing Club is also on every Thursday 1.00pm-1.30pm
