Our spacious, purpose built cookery school allows students to work in a professional environment with a fully qualified and experienced teacher. We regularly run full day and after school classes for children, from age 4 years, teenagers and adults. Classes are friendly, relaxed and well structured to allow achievement by all.
We would be able to deliver sessions between 1.50-2.50pm in our new building at Warth Mill, Diggle. Our classes cost £7.50 per person per hour based on a class size of 12 to 14 children. This includes all ingredients and light refreshments. We are very happy to work with mixed age groups and children of all abilities.
To compliment the school curriculum and our own after school programme the Wednesday sessions will follow a specific theme and build skills in a particular area. As a starting point the first term will cover cake making and decorating with the end products being a decorated Christmas cake and Christmas gifts. This will allow students to focus on developing a high skill level in this area, building specific skills over an extended time. We would also encourage creativity, guiding students to design their own decoration and learn a range of cake decorating skills.
We will offer a variety of themes, including promoting healthy eating, food production and the environment and investigating and using local produce. We will also organise ‘ Masterchef’ or 'Bake Off’ style competitions To express interest in this course please contact Pamela Jones.
