The Computing & ICT department took a group of 48 GCSE students to visit GameCity in Nottingham. Students had an opportunity to take part in a Python workshop to help them develop their programming skills. Students found this valuable and embraced the opportunity.
In addition to this, students also explored the three floors that demonstrated the development of computers and gaming. Students had first-hand experience with the old style retro games and got to explore them. This helped students understand how rapid gaming has developed over 30+ years.
Our students were great ambassadors for our school on the day and made us all proud. Students were smartly dressed throughout the day, showed huge respect to staff at GameCity and to their equipment, which triggered a response from Rachel (Education Manager, GameCity).
Thanks for visiting us at the NVA today.
The Crew and the workshop leader have both said how lovely and polite your students were, so please pass on our thanks to them for being such a pleasure to have.
