Business & Enterprise

“Some people dream of success, whilst other people get up every morning and make it happen.”

–  Wayne Huizenga, Entrepreneur

Our aim is to develop a greater understanding and knowledge of Business and the world of commerce. With this knowledge, students are able to be better citizens, and understand the economy in which they live and exist.  We strive to enthuse students about business, discussing ethics and equality, alongside finance and marketing.  This subject brings education and knowledge alive and real.  We foster good relationships and professionalism at all times, encouraging students to be the best they can be.

We keep the subject current, it constantly evolves and adapts to the changing world in which we live and work. We encourage a positive work ethic at all times, preparing and equipping students with the skills needed for the next stages of their academic journey and work beyond this.

Business and Enterprise is taught through the SPACE curriculum in Years 7-9.

In Year 10, students can opt to study GCSE Business or Cambridge National Enterprise & Marketing. Both courses provide opportunities to investigate and study real businesses.  Thorough planning and delivery allow students to explore the features that make business successful, allowing them to gain a greater understanding of the different functional areas of business including Human Resources, Operations, Finance and Marketing. Through effective feedback we allow students to reflect on their performance and work, identifying areas to improve and develop.  We provide exemplar work as a benchmark for success.
