Silver Award

• The Silver DofE programme is open to Year 10. and you need to have undertaken your Bronze Award to participate.
• A Silver DofE programme has 4 sections: Volunteering, Physical, Skills and Expedition. 
• The Expedition section involves planning, training for and completing an expedition (A minimum of 3 days, 2 nights; 7 hours planned activity each day).
• All expedition teams are supervised by an adult (the Expedition Supervisor) who is responsible for the safety of the team.
• You must spend a minimum of six months on your volunteering section.
• You should spend at least six months on one of the other sections (physical or Skill). The remaining section should be done for a minimum of six months.
• Knowing how long you are going to do it for will help you to choose your activity and set your goals for each section.
• It usually takes 6-18 months to complete your Silver Award.
