For over 100 years, Saddleworth has been proud to serve its community — providing an excellent education and helping young people to achieve their very best. Our tradition is one of both academic success and care for the whole child. Today, our focus remains on ensuring every student not only achieves highly but also enjoys school, develops their talents, and grows into a confident, responsible and caring individual who is excited about the future.
At Saddleworth, our mission is clear: Aim High, Expect the Best for Everyone, and Value Our Community. These values shape all aspects of school life, guiding students to work hard, support one another and make the most of every opportunity.
In April 2025, we were proud to join the Cranmer Education Trust, a family of schools that includes The Blue Coat School, The Brian Clarke CE Academy, St Anne’s Academy, Mayfield Primary, St George’s Primary, Manchester Nexus SCITT and the East Manchester Teaching School Hub. We joined the Trust because we share the same values and ambitions for young people: a commitment to academic excellence, broad opportunity, and strong community.
Saddleworth is a place where young people are supported to discover their passions, work hard, and develop the skills and character they need to succeed in life. Our curriculum is broad and ambitious, designed to challenge every learner, while our staff provide the care, encouragement and guidance that helps each student thrive.
Education at Saddleworth goes far beyond exam results. Students take part in sport, the arts, outdoor learning, leadership programmes and community projects — opportunities that help them build resilience, confidence and creativity.
The partnership between school and home is central to our success. By working closely with parents and carers, we ensure students meet high expectations for attendance, behaviour and learning, while also feeling supported and valued.
Saddleworth is a school of ambition, opportunity and community spirit, where every young person is supported to aim high, achieve their best and grow into a confident, caring individual.
