I have a son currently at Saddleworth School and a son at University. I live in Greenfield and currently work as a research assistant at the University of Sheffield. I have fourteen years experience working in the primary and HE sector and have a keen interest in all aspects of education. I have a good understanding of current educational policy and the difficulties faced by schools in an ever shifting political landscape. I am passionate about learning and teaching, curriculum innovation, and assessment practices, and strongly believe that education should be about active partnerships between staff, children, and parents. I am involved in the ‘Friends of Saddleworth School’ (FOSS) group and regularly attend meetings, and organise and help out at fundraising events.
