Cllr Brian Lord

I have been a governor at 4 different schools with jointly over 50 years of service. I have lived in Springhead since the mid sixties having been brought up in Grasscroft. I went to the Hulme Grammar School and Derby College. I retired 25 years ago having spent the last 24 years as a teacher at Breezehill School ending up as the Head of the Technology Faculty. I have been a Parish Councillor for 31 years, spent 13 years as a Borough Councillor and was a magistrate for 22 years.

Mr James Horn

I have been a Science teacher for sixteen years, at Saddleworth for six years, and held the posts of Head of Science and Home School leader at Saddleworth. This has given me an insight into the working of both the pastoral and curriculum aspects of our organisation.  For the past four years I have been the NASUWT Union Representative, stepping down to Deputy Representative when I took on the post of Staff Governor.  I am also a qualified trainer for the SSAT’s Teacher Effectiveness Enhancement Programme (TEEP), which helps me keep abreast of the latest research into Teaching and Learning.  I aim to help our young people become the best version of themselves by helping to drive continuous improvement within our school.
